Excellence in Every Part

Quality Assurance

Kerkau maintains strict dimensional standards by utilizing state-of-the-art inspection equipment along with strict adherence to the quality manual. All of Kerkau’s finished material is inspected for quality after the first piece of a production run and then every 10th piece that follows, to ensure tolerances are being held throughout the run. Any deviations from the applicable standards are quarantined and corrected at the time of fault. This means that you can be assured that from start to finish, your parts will meet and exceed expectation. Kerkau currently has the following equipment in house to dimensionally inspect finished material:

  • 4 Mitutoyo CRYSTA CMMs
  • Quantum MAX M Faro Arm
  • 60” & 42” Vernier Calipers
  • NPT & Specialty Thread Gages
  • 2 Mitutoyo Profilometers

Rooted in excellence and integrity, we are driven to deliver exceptional quality and reliability in every product we create.

Ensuring Precision

Advanced Inspection Equipment

Kerkau Manufacturing is one of a few domestic flange manufactures that has a member of the ASME B16.5, B16.36 and B16.47 subcommittees as head of the quality department. Kerkau’s Quality Manager, with 25 years manufacturing and quality experience, has been instrumental in developing our quality program.

You can be confident that every part manufactured by Kerkau meets the strict dimensional and physical properties called out by the industries standards. Kerkau currently is certified to:

ISO 9001:2015
CRN’s -Canadian Registration Numbers

Kerkau has the capabilities to do in house testing of materials to ensure physical and chemical criteria is adhered to.

To ensure quality standards are met, Kerkau PMIs (Positive Material Identification) incoming raw materials, after finish machining and prior to shipping. If any material is found to be defective, Kerkau uses 3rd party laboratory facilities to handle any destructive and microscopic inspections of material.

Kerkau’s PMI testing equipment includes many Niton and Olympus XRF Analyzers.

Hardness Testing
Kerkau in house hardness testing capabilities include testing for Brinell hardness. This is done by using a INSIZE Portable Leeb Hardness Tester. This allows Kerkau to accurately determine the hardness of incoming raw materials and materials that have been heat treated.

ALL FINAL TESTING RESULTS ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

Material Test Report
Material Test Reports are provided on every shipment at no cost to the customer. To ensure conformance to ASTM standards, incoming raw material is randomly selected for 3rd party destructive testing to verify original MTRs. With records on file since 1983, Kerkau can provide traceability to the mill on all material shipped since the very first shipment.
